Photovoice Project
Once again Re-create has partnered with the Community Centre for Media Arts in a Photovoice Project. The youth from RE-create took photographs on the theme, “Life: past, present and future”. Another component of this project was having the youth and volunteers mentor some of the children from the Jamesville Children’s Centre who then took photographs on the same theme. To view these photographs and others in this project check out the show on display at the FRWY Cafe on King Street East in Hamilton, ON.
Lost Mitts Project
This exhibition encouraged youth to use the lost mitts they found as their canvas. Come and experience the stories the youth tell through these discarded pieces. The art exhibition and sale opens Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Earl’s Court Gallery, 105 George Street in Hess Village in Hamilton. It will run until June 20, 2009.

My Life. My City.
Images not only show stories, they tell them. But for youth armed with a video camera and a vision, the stories captured in back alleys, skate parks, crowded cafeterias and Internet cafés share images that teach as much as they tell. Starting in April and ending in May, 2008, youth involved with RE-create were asked to help produce a video that explores their life in the city. The youth produced a short video with the help of a local production company.
